WELSH CASTLES RELAY
Organised by Les Croupiers Running Club, Cardiff
starting at Caernarfon Castle on Saturday morning, with an overnight halt at Newtown and finishing on Sunday afternoon at Cardiff Castle.
According to Cadw (the historic environment service of the Welsh Assembly Government) Wales has more castles per square mile than probably any other nation on earth.
How many Castles does the route pass?
Well - the route passes within 2 miles of: 22 Castles,
16 Forts (Roman or otherwise),
2 Mottes & Bailey and
5 Mottes.
